The difference between JYOTS neutral salt spray and acid salt spray test!

The difference between JYOTS neutral salt spray and acid salt spray test!

Junyan OTS Salt Spray Corrosion Test Chamber assesses the ability of materials and their protective layers to resist salt spray corrosion, as well as compares the process quality of similar protective layers. It can also evaluate the salt spray corrosion resistance of certain products. This product is suitable for salt spray corrosion testing of protective layers on components, electronic parts, metal materials, and industrial products. Salt spray tests are divided into neutral and acidic types. What are the differences between neutral and acidic salt spray tests in the test chambers?

1. Different Temperatures in Test Methods:

Neutral Test:
a. Test chamber: 35℃ ± 1℃
b. Saturated air barrel: 47℃ ± 1℃

Acidic Test:
a. Test chamber: 50℃ ± 1℃
b. Saturated air barrel: 63℃ ± 1℃

2. Different Materials for the Finished Product:

For the former, the entire chamber can be made from traditional PVC-reinforced rigid plastic sheets. For the latter, an upgraded PP sheet material is required, as PP sheets are more resistant to high temperatures and strong acid tests compared to PVC sheets.

3. Different Test Methods Fulfilled:

The neutral salt spray chamber complies with national standards such as GB/T2423.17-2008, GB/T2423.18-2000 "Basic Procedures for Environmental Testing of Electrical and Electronic Products - Test Ka," as well as GB/T10125-1997, GB/T10587-2006, GB10593.2-1990, GB/T1765-1979, GB/T1771-2007, GB/T12967.3-2008, GB/T5170.8-2008, among others. In addition to the methods specified in national standards, the acidic salt spray chamber must also expand to meet IEC, MIL, DIN, ASTM, IS, CNS, and other standards.

4. Comparison of Neutral Test Solutions:

China:
NaCl distilled water solution, NaCl mass concentration (50 ± 5) g/l, pH value 6.5–7.2

United States:
NaCl distilled water solution, NaCl mass concentration 5% ± 1%, pH value 6.5–7.2

Germany:
NaCl distilled water solution, NaCl mass concentration (50 ± 5) g/l, pH value 6.5–7.2

Japan:
NaCl distilled water solution, NaCl mass concentration 5% ± 1%, pH value 6.5–7.2

France:
NaCl distilled water solution, NaCl mass concentration 5%, pH value 6.5–7.2
